I Used To Love Doing Jigsaws.

Jigsaws, I used to love building them. The challenge of creating something from all of those little pieces gave me a lot of satisfaction when completed.

Not getting a lot of joy from my current jigsaw like problem though!

I have a picture of what it should look like in the end.

I have most if not all of the pieces I need. I just can’t seem to get them all into the same place and fitting together.

Time to call upon help from my mentor, to find out what piece I am missing and get this done once and for all.

Until the next time.

Frustration, Frustration!!

These are the type of days which make you want to just pack it all in, I am sure plenty of people have done in the past.

You watch the tutorial, or perform a task you have done plenty of times before, and it just wont work.

That has been my struggle over the past day and a half.

I have created my list building funnel as far as I can and now need to upload it to my website to see how it looks.

Simple you would think…………………………not the case.

Firstly my password was not recognised in my Dreamhost dashboard. Changed that and waited for it to register. Then logged into my Kompozer FTP dashboard, no luck, password not recognised.

Oh well, will try Filezilla instead, same result.

Back to Dreamhost to ensure the password had registered OK, yes it had. Went through the entire process a couple more times with both FTP systems to no avail.

Help Desk ticket submitted to the excellent Dreamhost support team. They confirm the details I have be using are correct.

Will try again this evening after work, hoping for better luck.

Where Did That Two Weeks Go?

Hi there,

I can’t believe that it is just about 2 weeks since I last posted on here. They do say time flies when you are having fun!

I would be lying if I said I have been working flat out on creating my list building funnel but I have made great progress.

Staying focussed has always been my biggest hurdle and this last few days has been no exception……………………I am though getting better at it.

It is probably due to the start of a new year but my in box seems to have been full of the latest breakthrough product which will instantly fill up my bank account with little effort of my part.

There were also some very good products but not right for me at this time. Clear focus is what I need right now.

Yes, I was tempted by a few and actually purchased one knowing that it fitted nicely with what I am working on at the moment.

That being said, there is no reason why I should not have completed my first draft list building funnel by the end of this weekend.

Another update in a few days time when I have achieved that mile stone.

Until then,

List Building Funnel Under Way.

Hi there,

Finally stopped watching training videos and started taking action 🙂

I have dusted off my copy of Landing Page Monkey and have begun creating a series of pages designed to capture email addresses in exchange for a free report about affiliate marketing. Not created the report yet but I have a series of bullet points which I will expand into useful content to complete the final report later this week.

First off Landing Page Monkey seems pretty easy to use and I soon expect to be the proud owner of a set of opt in, redirect and thank you pages leading prospective customers to my free report.

Once I have completed the pages I will be finishing the report and creating a series of follow up emails for my auto responder series.

More updates to follow.

Learning v Action Part 2.

Hi there,

I have reached that all too familiar place again. Asking myself the age old question.

When will I have learned enough knowledge to begin putting it into action?

I know that I should make a start and see how far I get with the knowledge I already have but the temptation to just have a look at that next bit of training or check out that next video showing me how to do something else is almost overwhelming. Thing is that deep down, I know I already have enough knowledge about this to get going and see where it takes me.

I am sat here with my bullet point list of actions to take to set up my list building process. All I have to do is get moving on the first item on the list. That is when I find myself thinking, do I really know enough to get this done?

Yes I do so why haven’t I made a start?

This has been my stumbling block so many times in the past.

Not this time!!

I am going to begin at bullet point 1 and steadily work through until I have either hit a roadblock or created a process that is both workable and acceptable, not perfect! Only if I hit a roadblock will I need to search out further training as far as building this process is concerned.

Most importantly I will be firm with myself without giving myself a hard time when I get stuck. I know that producing the end product will be worthwhile and a huge boost to my self confidence.

Until next time.

A New More Focused Plan of Action.

Hi there,

This time I am going to do things the right way, focused and step by step instead of my more usual scatter gun approach.

For the first time ever I am going to begin by building a list of subscribers. Never tried this before so it should be interesting to say the least.

I am going to start with some research on the Internet on list building techniques and tips as I have no knowledge of how to set up an email capturing process at all.

I will report back with a progress report soon.

All the best,

Hi there,

Now that I have cleared the decks so to speak, narrowed my focus down to concentrate on Affiliate Marketing and learning how to create my own products in the future, it is time to take action.

One mistake which I have made many, many times in the past is to confuse learning how to do things, reading articles and books, watching training videos and attending webinars for example with actually taking action and moving forward.

I have been able to fool myself in the past that by “learning” more and more stuff I was making progress. This is of course reflected in my complete lack of success!!

Learning without taking action is pretty pointless. What use is all of the knowledge in the world without putting it into practice?

It can be very scary to leave that nice and safe Comfort Zone. That is going to be my biggest challenge over the next few weeks.

Please don’t make the same mistakes that I have. Learning is not only essential but can be fun too. Just don’t confuse it with actually taking action towards your chosen goals.

All the best,

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to you all.

I am not a great one for making New Year resolutions, I prefer to set myself goals to achieve regardless of what time of the year it happens to be.

One thing I have done so far in 2016 is cancel a lot of my email subscriptions as most of them I do not even read or act upon as they are no longer relevant to the markets or projects I am currently looking into pursuing.

My focus for 2016 is Affiliate Marketing leading on to creating my own products longer term. To that end I have begun working with an affiliate programme to set me on my way and I have also joined a new membership site from which I expect to learn how to successfully create and sell my own range of products.

I will keep you updated on my progress and all of the inevitable ups and downs along the way 🙂

Take care,
